Hailsham man named as crash victim

A man who died when the van he was driving collided with a tree on the A27 near Selmeston on Thursday night, 17 March, has been named as Michael Ronald Davies, 53, of Bowley Road, Hailsham.

The collision happened shortly before 9.30pm on Thursday on the A27 between Charleston Farm House and Middle Farm.

The road was closed in both directions until 2.07am following the collision which concerned his white Citroen Berlingo van travelling west.

Mr Davies was confirmed dead at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the vehicle in the area prior to the collision is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Idehurst.
